BlackBerry stock went crazy last week when a report surfaced that the company had met with Samsung about a possible acquisition. The stock shot up only to come plummeting back down to earth when both companies denied the report. According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung wants a partnership with BlackBerry, not an acquisition.
J.K. Shin is co-CEO of Samsung. He explained a BlackBerry acquisition is against Samsung's current direction. Samsung developed its own security platform called Knox and they are satisfied with where it is today.
BlackBerry may be acquired someday, but apparently not by Samsung.
